Happy Valentine's Day

It was a good weekend here at Casa Ottomanelli.

For the first time since Timothy was born, Pete didn't have to work over the weekend. Thanks to my wonderful mom, it was also the first time that Pete and I had a night away.

Saturday morning Pete and Timmy went to the Farmer's market and brought back some beautiful flowers and yummy pastries for breakfast

Then my mom came up to hang out and we all got lunch together. After lunch, Pete and I were off to the spa for a VERY relaxing afternoon of mud baths and massages. We enjoyed a nice leisurely dinner out and then some champagne and chocolate at a nearby hotel. We slept for 8 whole hours which seemed downright luxurious.

The next morning was great, we went to Coffee bean and sat outside by the fire pit, chatting and drinking lattes. Of course the best part of the weekend was coming home to this:

Grandpa Came to Visit ... And He Was Rewarded Handsomely

Because Timmy gave him a huge smile and laughed for him. It was awesome.

Little Chubby

I found a 0-3 months outfit in the closet the other day that I had forgotten about, and I thought Timmy should wear it at least once before it was too small. I noticed the tag said "up to 12 pounds" but I figured we would give it a shot anyway.

It was a little tight.

MOM, take it OFF!

Well that's not going to help the situation

We made it up to him by letting his hands free

And then we let the Timmy free

And he was happy.

Sleep

For the past week, Timmy has showed us how much he loves us by sleeping at night. Most nights he has slept for a 5 hour stretch, followed by a 3 or 4 hour stretch before waking up a happy baby. On Saturday night, he slept for SEVEN STRAIGHT HOURS! 10:30pm to 5:30am. It was truly amazing.

Maybe those baby books are right, six weeks was a turning point. Pete and I are starting to feel like real live human beings again. And Timmy is doing really well. He sure is growing fast, 13 pounds already! It won't be long before he is on to the 3-6 month size clothes!

Entertainment for a Six Week Old

Timothy and that mobile! Every time we put him in his crib, he immediately looks up at it in anticipation of the music and motion. Why aren't they all electric ... or at least battery powered?

Ch - Ch - Ch - Changes

Monday was the first day that our babysitter watched Timmy while I went to school. Grandma had been staying with him for the first three weeks of school, but now our friend Tawny comes to play with him Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings. I know Timmy really misses Grandma, and I miss seeing her so often too! But so far, Timmy seems to be doing well and Tawny is great. It has been working out well for me because my mom has been coming up on days I don't have anything to do and hanging out, helping take care of Tim. We're pretty lucky!

Of course the best part of every day is when Pete, Timmy and I hang out at night together, especially now that he is so much more alert and is getting to know us better!
